Frameworks
The On the Move project has developed four complementary frameworks to improve the quality, accessibility and effectiveness of blended apprenticeship mobility. Together, they support mobility coordinators, VET providers, intermediary organisations, companies and apprentices throughout the mobility process. Developed through research and consultation with stakeholders across the partner countries, the frameworks provide practical guidance on professional competences, mobility planning, organisational capacity and apprentice integration before, during and after the international experience.
Qualifications Framework for Mobility Coordinators
The Qualifications Framework for Mobility Coordinators defines the knowledge, skills, competences and attitudes required by professionals coordinating apprenticeship mobility through intermediary organisations.
It clarifies their role in planning, administration, communication, learner support, cooperation with companies and quality assurance. By providing a common reference linked to European qualification principles, the framework supports the professional development and recognition of mobility coordinators across different countries and organisational contexts.
Framework for Fostering the Integration of Apprentices in the Host Country through Blended Activities
This framework supports the successful integration of apprentices into their host company, workplace and local community. It presents flexible face-to-face and digital activities that can be implemented before, during and after the physical mobility period. The framework promotes effective preparation, onboarding, mentoring, intercultural communication, inclusion, wellbeing and continued support, helping apprentices participate confidently and benefit fully from their international learning experience.
Blended Mobility Scheme
The Blended Mobility Scheme provides practical guidance for designing, organising, implementing and monitoring apprenticeship mobility that combines physical and virtual activities. It describes the roles of the organisations involved, the main stages of the mobility process, communication arrangements, digital tools, quality-assurance procedures and feedback mechanisms. The scheme helps partners create flexible and coherent mobility experiences that respond to the needs of apprentices, companies and VET organisations.
Capacity-Building Framework for Blended Mobility
The Capacity-Building Framework helps organisations and businesses—particularly SMEs—strengthen their ability to participate in and support blended apprenticeship mobility. It assists them in identifying their needs, assessing their readiness and selecting appropriate forms of organisational, pedagogical and digital support. The framework also provides guidance to VET providers and intermediary organisations on how to help companies host, mentor and support apprentices effectively throughout the mobility process.
